Who I Am

The expert behind the calculators

I am a certified payroll professional and former Senior NHS Payroll Manager with over 12 years of hands-on experience administering the complex Agenda for Change (AfC) contract and the NHS Pension Scheme.

I co-founded this platform after years of helping clinical colleagues—nurses, midwives, paramedics, and healthcare assistants—demystify their monthly payslips. The NHS pay system is notoriously intricate: tiered pension contributions that change dynamically with pensionable pay, complex unsocial hours enhancements (Section 2), London weighting (HCAS) caps, and regional tax variations. Standard online tax calculators consistently get these calculations wrong.
